IamPIFF.com Presents: Ru-Spits

Queens, NEW YORK- This past Thanksgiving, Queens Rapper “Ru-Spits” dropped his newest mix tape The Gourmet, currently available on iTunes or any store who sells mix tapes throughout the Tri-State area. The definition of a gourmet is “one who appreciates the fine art of cooking,” and with his latest CD, top lyrical chef Ru-Spits (from Farmers,Queens) cooks up his finest meal yet for the starving streets.

Brought to you by Fire and Ice Entertainment, DJ Stunna and Love Dinero, The Gourmet provides the streets with the main ingredients that they have been looking for in the full course meal that we call music.

Spits partly decided to name his album The Gourmet because “the streets is hungry, so I had to feed them [with The Gourmet]. Right now I feel like we are the top chefs. So I had to fix (the streets) up a plate of the gourmet because you know, it’s the best food, top of the line.” Spits also added “ I figured I will take it back to when people had concepts to their mix tapes, and you could expect that with my new CD.”

Fans could expect guest appearances on The Gourmet from popular names such as Nikki Menaj, Styles-P, Juelz Santana, Mazaradi Fox and Nyce from the infamous Mobb, just to name a few.

According to Ru-Spits or Spitta, “the stand-out tracks on The Gourmet include the intro track, track 4 ‘Shotty on me’, track 5 ‘What it look like and track 14 ‘Ridin’, featuring Mazaradi Fox. “One of my favorites also includes a hot track featuring Nyce from the Infamous Mobb called ‘Real Power’. The whole CD is original so I am sure that [fans] would like all of the tracks, the whole CD stands out” said Spitta.

Anyone interested in purchasing The Gourmet will soon be able to find it on iTunes (roughly .99 per song download and $8 for the entire album.) In addition, if you are located within the tri-state area, you could pick up the album from any mix tape store, preferably from Jamaica avenue, Hall of Fame, Downtown Brooklyn and throughout the entire tri-state. “My CD’s get distributed all over the tri-state area,” said Spits. “You could also check out my MySpace page: www.myspace.com/ruspits

In accordance to Ru-Spits, The Gourmet is different from his previous mix tapes “…because the whole concept behind it, the title is different, I think it just provides a breath of fresh air for hip-hop fans.” Spitta also added “The Gourmet”is about styling. In my previous mix tapes, I was still getting my skills up and getting myself established as an artist. Now with The Gourmet, I am now showing off my skills and hard-work… and all the hood nigga’s could relate to it.”

On another note, it is vitally important to point out that although Ru-Spits is apart of the famous Fire & Ice Entertainment, he still is not signed to a major record label. Expressing his reasoning for not yet being signed, Spits added, “It is because of the timing. Coming from New York right now is hard, people aren’t really looking for N.Y artists; people are only fucking the south right now.” Spitta also say’s “Not being co-signed by another big rapper could be the reason. For example, if I was down with established names like D- block or the Diplomats, it would have been easier, but now I am building a brand on my own.”

Ru-Spits is on his grind as a non- conforming rapper trying to make it on his own. Spitta also added “Every rapper that’s out now has been out for a while before they actually was able to pop. No one just easily got on, and for the nigga's that did… lets just see how long they last. Rappers who put the work in already, by the time he pops, he already knows what he is doing; he already has his skills up. Everybody wants to blow, but how much people really could handle the responsibility?”

The New Year is coming, but it is just the same old grind for Ru-Spits, who is looking forward to 2009. When asked about his plans for the New Year, Spits responded, stating, “I have a movie coming out called “The Project” with Juelz Santana, and I am going to have a new album out. Look forward to more mix tapes and more grinding. Also, look out for Fient Out DVD… we are on our third volume right now, set to be out by December 20th. You could also check me out on the new Smack DVD making a special guest appearance.”

Spits closed out the interview reaching out to his fans. “To all my fans, make sure you go get The Gourmet. Cop the CD off of iTunes... you won’t be disappointed. You could reach me at myspace.com/ruspits or hit me up at ruspitsmusic@gmail.com.”
